How to Get Magic Hour in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Magic Hour is one of Aqua's signature commands, a wide sweeping attack that catches everything around her
and deals heavy damage. It is Aqua-only. Two recipes, both at 90%, and they give
completely different abilities, so it is worth picking deliberately rather than using whatever you have
spare.
One thing that surprises people: despite the name, Magic Hour is classified as a Physical
command, not Magic. That matters if you are stacking Attack Haste or Combo Plus around it.

If you have already built Blitz for something else, the first recipe is the
quicker of the two. Just make a second Blitz rather than spending the one you are using.
Which Crystal Should You Use?
The two recipes share the same odds but almost nothing else, so this is a real choice.
Barrier Surge + Aeroga with a Pulsing Crystal gives Second Chance.
If Second Chance is still missing from your build, take this recipe. It also gives Cure Boost on
Shimmering and Defender on Soothing, which makes it the survivability option across the board.
Blitz + Zero Graviga with a Pulsing Crystal gives Finish Boost instead, along with
Air Combo Plus on Wellspring and Dark Screen on Shimmering. That is the damage-focused set, best
saved for when your defensive abilities are already handled.
Both recipes give Treasure Magnet on Hungry and Lucky Strike on Abounding, so those slots are a wash.
Level Magic Hour before melding it into anything else if you want to keep the ability.
Commands That Use Magic Hour as an Ingredient
Nothing melds from Magic Hour, so it is yours to keep once built. No need to hold a spare.
Where the Ingredients Come From
Zero Gravira is available from shops and treasure chests around the middle of the
game, and Zero Graviga melds up from there. If you have already built a Blitz
for Sonic Blade, make a second one and hold it for this chain rather than
spending the one you are using.
The other route is worth knowing if you are building toward Mega Flare. That
chain needs an Aeroga anyway, so Barrier Surge + Aeroga lets you share the work
across two builds, and it is the recipe that gives Second Chance.
Want to Test Your Melding Path?
Since the two recipes hand out completely different abilities, check the Command Melding
Simulator before committing your ingredients.
Magic Hour is one of the best things Aqua can put in a deck, and at 90% either way it is a low-risk
build. Decide whether you want Second Chance or Finish Boost first, then pick the recipe that gives it.
