How to Get EXP Walker in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
If you’ve ever wanted to level up without grinding endlessly, EXP Walker is the perfect ability.
Once you unlock it, simply walking around earns you experience. It sounds too good to be true, but it’s one of the
most useful abilities in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, especially if you don’t like farming mobs for hours.
I still remember the first time I got EXP Walker, I couldn’t believe how quickly my levels shot up just by running
circles around a safe room. Here’s how you can get it too.
Step 1: Find an Abounding Crystal
You’ll need an Abounding Crystal before you can get EXP Walker. These aren’t super common, but you can
find them in treasure chests:
- Deep Space (Launch Deck): Chest with an Abounding Crystal.
- Neverland (Rainbow Falls, U-shaped ledge): Another chest with an Abounding Crystal.
If you’re like me, you might want to grab both just in case you mess up a meld.
You could get lucky and get a drop from the annoying Mandrakes in Radiant Garden as well.
Step 2: Use Abounding Crystal in a Meld
Now comes the fun part. When you fuse certain commands with an Abounding Crystal, the ability you get will
be EXP Walker. There are a bunch of different combos that work, but here are some reliable ones
I recommend starting with:
Easy Options (Works for Everyone)
Ingredients |
Resulting Command |
Try It |
Aero + Blizzard |
Blizzara (with EXP Walker) |
Simulate |
Binding Strike + Blizzaga |
Deep Freeze (with EXP Walker) |
Simulate |
Curaga + Block/Barrier |
Renewal Block/Barrier (with EXP Walker) |
Simulate |
Character-Specific Options
If you’re playing a specific character, these melds are also great choices:
Ingredients |
Result |
Character |
Try It |
Strike Raid + Sliding Dash |
Payback Raid (with EXP Walker) |
Ventus |
Simulate |
Sliding Dash + Counter Hammer |
Payback Fang (with EXP Walker) |
Terra |

Step 3: Level the Command
After you create the command, don’t forget to level it up fully. Once it’s maxed out, you’ll
learn EXP Walker permanently, even if you remove the command later. That’s when the real fun begins: you can
literally run circles around a world and watch your EXP bar climb.
Tips for Using EXP Walker
- Best in safe zones: Find a quiet spot and keep your character moving while you multitask.
- Combine with EXP Chance: If you’re farming tough bosses, pairing these two can help you bounce back from deaths.
- Perfect for the Mirage Arena: Running laps between fights quickly stacks levels.
Why I Recommend Getting EXP Walker Early
Personally, I always go out of my way to get EXP Walker as soon as I can. It saves so much grinding time and lets you
enjoy the story and bosses without worrying about being underleveled. If you hate repetitive farming, this ability is
a game-changer.
How not to become overpowered
On critical mode, the game can quickly become a cakewalk if you keep this on. What I like to do is enable Zero EXP until it feels like I'm doing chip damage, and then disable it. That way you can quickly level up when you need to but still keep it challenging.
