How to Get Mega Flare in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Mega Flare doesn't ask much of you. One recipe, can't fail, works for Terra, Ventus and Aqua. That makes
it a nice change of pace from the commands that want you to roll dice. The catch, if you can call it
that, is that your crystal is the only decision you get to make. Pick the right one and you walk away
with a top-tier ability attached.
How to Meld Mega Flare (The Only Recipe)
One recipe, 100%, no character restrictions:

Crawling Fire |

Since there's only one path here, both ingredients are non-negotiable. There's no backup recipe if
you're short, so plan on lining up Fission Firaga and Crawling Fire together rather than hoping
something else turns up.
Which Crystal Should You Use?
One recipe means the crystal is your whole decision, and there's a clear winner.
Wellspring Crystal gives you Once More. This is the reason
to care about Mega Flare beyond the fireworks. Once More keeps you alive through a full combo at 1
HP instead of dying halfway through it, and it's most of what makes Proud and Critical runs
manageable. Don't have it yet? Use this meld.
Everything else, for when Once More is already covered:
- Shimmering gives Fire Boost, which fits given what Mega Flare is
- Pulsing gives Finish Boost
- Fleeting gives Reload Boost
- Soothing gives Damage Syphon
- Hungry gives HP Prize Plus
- Abounding gives EXP Chance
Level it all the way up before you do anything else with it if you want to keep the ability.
Commands That Use Mega Flare as an Ingredient
Nothing melds from Mega Flare. It's the end of its own chain.
That's actually convenient. You don't need to hoard it, and you're not going to regret spending it on
something better later, because there is no later. Once you've made it and pulled your ability off
the crystal, it's just a deck command. Go use it.
The Full Build Chain
Both ingredients need building themselves, so here is the whole sequence from shop-bought commands up
to Mega Flare. Everything here works for Terra, Ventus and Aqua.
| Step | Meld | Odds | Result |
| 1 | Fire + Fira | 90% | Firaga |
| 2 | Aero + Aerora | 90% | Aeroga |
| 3 | Firaga + Aeroga | 80% | Fission Firaga |
| 4 | Firaga + Stopga | 80% | Crawling Fire |
| 5 | Fission Firaga + Crawling Fire | 100% | Mega Flare |
You need two Firagas, one for step 3 and one for step 4. That means four Fira in
total, so stock up before you start.
There is some flexibility in the middle. Fission Firaga also melds from Fira + Aeroga or Firaga +
Aerora, both at 80%. Crawling Fire also melds from Firaga + Slow or Firaga + Stopra, both at 80%. Use
whichever version of the Stop or Aero line you happen to have.
Aqua players should note a clash on step 4: Firaga + Stopga gives Crawling Fire at 80% but Firaga
Burst at 20%, so you may need to repeat it.
Want to Test Your Melding Path?
Want to see what you'll get before you spend a crystal on it? The Command Melding
Simulator will show you the result and the ability up front.
For how little effort Mega Flare takes, it gives back a lot. One guaranteed recipe, every character can
make it, and it's a clean shot at Once More if you bring the right crystal. If you're working through
the crystal guide trying to figure out where to spend a Wellspring, this is one
of the better places for it.
